Card Verification Methods
Tailored authentication
for every provisioning request
Add another layer of security to card provisioning requests with a variety of verification methods that enable cardholders to quickly and easily complete their card setup. Stay in control by choosing which verification methods to present to the cardholder based on your real‑time fraud risk assessment. This capability also helps you reduce customer support costs by allowing cardholders to verify their identity through automated, self‑service channels like your website, iOS app, or SMS.
Verification options
Issuers can choose from various verification methods to validate card ownership by the cardholders before approving a card provisioning request:
- In‑App Verification: Authenticates cardholders directly within the issuer’s iOS app.
- Short Message Service (SMS): Sends a one‑time passcode to the cardholder’s phone number on file with the issuer.
- Email: Authenticates the cardholder’s identity through a one‑time passcode sent to the email address on file with the issuer.
- Website or App Clip: Directs cardholders to the issuer’s website or an App Clip to complete verification.
- Outbound Phone Call: Delivers a one‑time passcode via an outbound phone call to the cardholder’s number on file with the issuer.
- Inbound Phone Call: Allows cardholders to call the issuer’s support center, where an agent can verify their identity.
