Payment Sheet Merchandising

Surface card benefits and offers right at checkout

Encourage cardholders to choose your card more often at checkout by dynamically presenting card benefits and offers that might otherwise go unnoticed, directly in the Apple Pay payment sheet. With a single integration, maximize reach and highlight your card’s unique value across millions of merchants worldwide, on the web and in apps.

Issuers remain in control

With Payment Sheet Merchandising, issuers retain full ownership and control of the dynamic content displayed within the payment sheet. Two types of offers can be presented by the issuer to the cardholder:

  • Card program offers, including key benefits of the card
  • Promotional offers, including promotions and installment options

The offers presented must be accurate, relevant to the transaction or card program, and compliant with all applicable regulations.

Benefit placement in the payment sheet

Issuer offers can be displayed in three placements within the Apple Pay payment sheet to help drive further cardholder engagement.

Payment sheet

Issuers can surface card program offers for the purchase within the card detail box.

Card hub

Issuers can feature card program offers and promotional offers within their card detail box.

If needed, issuers can display terms and conditions on the card hub. Links from this text open in an issuer-hosted web view; such pages must be accessible when requested and compliant with all applicable regulations.

Payment options

The payment options screen contains all payment options available for a specific card purchase transaction. This can include installment plans, rewards redemption options, and both card program and promotional offers. Each payment option is allowed one associated offer. Issuers can also include multiple special offers in the order they determine.

Post‑purchase management

Issuers are responsible for honoring all offers presented to cardholders.

For reconciliation purposes, Apple Pay informs the issuer when a completed transaction includes a merchandising offer. Beyond this notification, offer details will not appear in Apple Wallet. Issuers are responsible for communicating all post‑purchase offer status and fulfillment through their own channels.
